Artist's Comments

Though I must admit, I think this -would- make an awesome tattoo, this is not technically meant to be one. Unless you'd consider it a car-tattoo. XD It's meant to be a decal design for Zhon's contest: [link]

My pencil was suffering a bit of graphite decay near the end, so it was hard to get some of the crisp preciseness in some lines on the right wing. But I do like how it turned out all in all. I've also posted an inverted version for the contest. I thought inverting it would be appropriate to do because the decal itself will be lighter than the surroundings, most likely. If not, this version will be a better reference.

This design is based on the song '37 Stitches' by Drowning Pool. The symbolism can be summed up from lines in the song 'I know you are the only one, my little taste of heaven. You know I am the only one, your bitter taste of hell. And I see the end is creepin' into me, thirty seven stitches, to keep the pain in. I know you are the only one, on the darkest side of the sun.' (Drowning Pool, '37 Stitches' )

Very very cool.
I like the way that the lines from the song are incorporated into the image.

Thank you! And for the +fav. :D I find I enjoy tribal art- maybe I'll do more ... keep your fingers crossed.

This is neat, but I like the previous version better. The right wing on this one looks more 2D.

Will work for Star Trek season box sets.

They're crossed. :-D
Tribal art is quite kickass.

lol I'll keep that in mind for motivational purposes. XP It wouldn't be fair to expect you to keep your fingers crossed for long, as I imagine you've got things like homework to do. It'd be hard to do essay writing with crossed fingers, I'm sure. XP
